I’ve just realised the title of this post makes this post sound a bit like a kids clothing post doesn’t it? At the start of summer I really wanted a playsuit. The trend has been going strong now for the past couple of years, and I decided that this would be the year I’d finally get one. I mean, who doesn’t want to be able to wear pants when it looks like your wearing a dress, right? Playsuits are so practical – they don’t blow up in the wind, and you can sit however you like without the fear of flashing anyone. Plus there are so many cute prints and designs!
After doing a bit of online shopping, I decided on this super cute star print playsuit from Kmart. It was only $12 so that was pretty much what sealed the deal. It’s got adjustable straps (a must have if you are small chested like me!), it’s also not too short, and it’s nice and floaty for those super hot days. Basically I bought it, took it home, shared it in this video, and popped it in my wardrobe. And then I promptly forgot about it.
Fast forward three months later, and I’m standing in front of my wardrobe on a piping hot day wondering what the hell I was going to wear. I’m in that awkward stage of pregnancy where I don’t quite look pregnant, but I definitely have a bit of a tum, so I’m avoiding all things too tight at the moment. Sadly that rules out about 70% of my dresses. I saw my playsuit looking all lonely in the back of the wardrobe and decided to try it on. Seriously, why didn’t I wear it sooner! It’s so incredibly comfy, being made from a a soft, flowy cotton. The elasticated waist band offers shape without being too clingy, and means you totally can’t see my tummy at all. I’m honestly regretting not wearing it more this summer as it’s just so damn comfy!
I guess the only problem with playsuits is when you need to use the bathroom….which when you are pregnant happens about every half an hour 😂 I ended up sitting there basically half-naked, with no door on our toilet (as we are renovating), wondering why on earth I ever thought it was a good idea to wear one in the first place….

Batwing Cardi – Glassons (same here, different colour)
Sneakers – Deuce (same here, and very cute ones here)

Sizing Notes: I bought my playsuit in a size 8. I’m usually a size 6-8 and this fits me perfectly. It’s designed to be a little oversized and flowy so you can go down a size if you’d prefer it tighter. While you can’t get this exact print anymore, you can get this ruffle playsuit which is a very similar style!
Are you a fan of the playsuit? Here’s a few of my favourites from around the web.
