Okay guys, I think I’ve found it…. the best fake tan I’ve ever used. I’ve tried so many self tanners over the years (both natural and not-so natural) and I’ve had mixed results. I can honestly say that the Tan Organic Self Tanning Oil is one of the easiest and most natural-looking tans that I’ve used to date, and the fact that it’s natural makes it all the better. It’s 100% natural, organic and Eco certified. How awesome is that?!
Unlike normal self tanners, which are usually in the form of a cream, a gel, or a mousse, this product is an oil. Except it isn’t the slightest bit greasy. It’s more like a water that’s easily rubbed on to the skin and takes only a few minutes to dry. I do use a tanning glove so it doesn’t stain my hands or leave any water lines, but if you don’t like using a glove you can apply this with your hands too. It doesn’t have a guide colour to it so you do need to ensure you don’t miss any patches, but this is easy by just working on half a limb at a time.
The Tan Organic Self Tanning Oil comes in a glass bottle with a dropper on the top which allows for just the right amount of product to come out. For each half-limb I use about the size of a 20 cent piece and I make sure I buff the product in really well.
I like to apply my tan about two hours before I go to bed and let it do it’s thing overnight and in the morning I wash off the excess colour. While a little bit of colour goes down the drain, I haven’t noticed any staining on my clothes or sheets, which is a total bonus. Some fake tans will stain your sheets and your clothing but I’ve never noticed any colour transfer with this tan. It also takes me about 2-3 shades darker with one coat and about 4-5 shades darker with two.
The other thing I really like about the tan is the smell. It doesn’t have that awful fake tan smell to it, instead it’s quite pleasant. The smell also washes off when you wash off the excess colour, so even if your not a fan, it will be gone before you head out the door in the morning.
The Tan Organic Self Tanning Oil retails for $49.99 for 100ml, and a bottle this size should last quite sometime. You can purchase online from Vanilla Bloom or at selected pharmacies.
