Would you believe that I have never tried a sheet mask before? As someone who loves their beauty products, I don’t know how it has taken me so long to get around to trying one, yet I always just seem to gravitate towards your traditional “slap on” masks. When Living Nature released their new Bee Venom Mask, I was so excited to give it a try!
Living Nature is one of my favourite New Zealand Skincare brands, and it’s for good reason. Both their skincare products and makeup products have become staples in my collection, due to their high-quality ingredients and potent formulas. Their products are made in New Zealand from natural and organic ingredients. Even the cotton in this sheet mask is certified organic, and it’s little things like this that make me so excited about a product like this. Also, can we just mention how cute the packaging is? I love the black and gold and the little bee wings are just too cute!
The key ingredients in the Living Nature Bee Venom Mask are Manuka Honey and Bee Venom, which help to tighten and plump the skin. The mask is designed to be used by all skin types, however due to it’s anti-aging properties, it would generally work best for those wanting to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, or (like me) prevent them all together! Obviously, since the mask contains bee venom, it’s important to ensure that if you have any allergy to bees you avoid this mask. If you are unsure as to whether you are allergic or not, it’s always a good idea to patch test a little of the mask before applying this to your face.
The mask is really easy to get out of the pack, unfold, and place on your face. It’s well moistened so it sticks to your face well, however I found it was best to use it when you aren’t doing anything too full-on, as it did have the tendency to slip down my face a little. It’s the perfect excuse to make yourself a coffee, grab a book, and sit down and relax for 20 minutes!
I found the mask really comfortable to wear, and didn’t have any warming sensation that can sometimes occur with bee venom masks. The boyfriend got a bit of a fright I think when I walked out of the bathroom, and proceeded to call me Hannibal Lector for the next 20 minutes. Sadly, he didn’t want to join in on the sheet mask fun! Seriously though, is there anyway to take a semi-attractive photo wearing a sheet mask? I think not! 😂
After I took the mask off, I gently patted down my face with a warm washcloth remove the excess product the mask had left. I let the rest just dry into my skin and continue to work it’s magic. My skin felt and looked really good when I took the mask off. It’s an extremely hydrating mask, and my skin definitely did look plumper and almost fresher than it did beforehand.
The Living Nature Bee Venom Mask comes in either a 6 pack, or as individual sheet masks. For a completely natural mask that contains bee venom, the price point of $9.90 is extremely good, as I have seen chemical-filled masks retail for much more than this! You can buy online or at any of these stockists. I’d totally try this mask again!
