Dr Hauschka Purple Light Collection

Dr Hauschka Purple Light Collection

Dr Hauschka is without a doubt, one of my favourite higher-end safer beauty brands. While you might not realise to look at it, the Dr Hauschka products (both skincare and makeup) are made from 100% natural and organic ingredients.

Just in time for Autumn, Dr Hauschka have released the stunning Purple Light Makeup Collection. This limited edition collection comes in THE most stunning deep purple packaging. The packaging has a glitter to it, which in the light is absolutely beautiful. I tried to capture it as best as I could in the photos below, but these really don’t do the product any justice!

The collection focuses around rich violet and lilac tones, which are so beautiful for the cooler months. Pantone have just named Violet as the 2018 colour of the year, so  expect to see a lot of this shade in both clothing and makeup over the next few months.

The Dr Hauschka Purple Light Collection contains an Eyeshadow Palette which comes complete with four co-ordinating eyeshadows, an Eye Definer which is a grey-violet shade of eye pencil, a Teint Powder to even out the complexion, and two Liquid Lip Colours in a nude and a berry colour.

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been trying out a few of the items from the collection, and I have to say it’s as beautiful to use as it is to look at!

Eyeshadow Palette: While many people may think of purple eyeshadow as being slightly scary to apply, this palette can be used for both dramatic and more natural looks. There are four complementary eyeshadow shades; a pale pink with a soft shimmer, a matte taupe-purple, a matte bright deep violet, and a shimmery rich plum. The taupey purple shade is incredibly easy to wear, and a light wash of this shade across the lids is often all I’ll wear. For a more dramatic look, I’ll apply the bright violet shade across the lid, blending out and into the deeper plum in the crease. The plum shade also makes for a beautiful lower lash line shade. These colours are really easy to work with and the deeper shades aren’t quite as pigmented as they look in the pan, so they can be layered to build up the colour intensity.  RRP: $75.00

Teint Powder: The Teint Powder is one absolutely stand out product. It’s a finishing powder, that evens out the complexion and skin tone and is the perfect finish to any makeup look. It contains three colours – a cool bronzy shade, a neutral pale purple, and an ivory shade. These are all swirled together with a large fluffy brush and applied to the face. This Teint Powder has just the smallest amount of shimmer through it, which offers a natural looking glow. I really love how my skin looks after I’ve applied this powder, and I’ve found myself reaching for this product a lot lately!  RRP: $65.00

Liquid Lip Colour 01: The Dr Hauschka Liquid Lip Colours are one of my favourite liquid lip products. They wear beautifully and the doe-foot application makes the colour extremely easy to apply. Shade 01 is my perfect type of nude. It’s not too brown or too dark, it’s just the perfect blend of nude-pink. RRP: $40

Below I have shared a couple of photos of how I have used this range. The first is a more natural look and includes the Teint Powder, and the taupey-purple and deep plum shades in the eyeshadow palette.

The second look is more dramatic, and includes the Teint Powder, the Liquid Lip Colour, and I have used all of the shades in the Eyeshadow Palette, with the main focus being on the third matte bright violet shade.

Thank you so much Marleen! Isn’t it cool that they are such a well known company, yet are still organic and natural? I love their products so I was thrilled to be able to still use them when I switched to all natural products. Thanks for reading! x
