One of my new favourite items of clothing is, hands down, this gorgeous Serenity navy blazer from Love Knot War. I’ve always enjoyed wearing blazers, and I think they are one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe. Years ago when I was working in a more corporate environment, I love pairing my blazers with pretty dresses and cute little skirts. Now when I wear one, it’s in a far more casual sense so I thought I’d share a couple of tips on how I like to style a navy blazer, in a way that’s #mumlife friendly!
Firstly, this blazer is from Love Knot War’s Black Label Collection, and it’s simply stunning. It sits on the body perfectly, and since it’s made from a soft polyester material, it hangs beautifully. It also doesn’t crease, which is an absolute bonus as I try to avoid ironing at all costs! 🙅🏼♀️
The lining is printed with their popular scribble print, and I love how the sleeves contrast when you roll them up. There are four colour options – navy, black, blush, and a gorgeous emerald. Currently they are on sale for half price too, which is such a bargain for such a beautiful quality piece!
It’s no secret I love the colour black, and it’s really hard for me to put together an outfit that doesn’t have even a snippet of black in it, but when I’m wearing navy, I never really wear black. I find the two create quite an overall dark combo, so I like to lighten up my navy with lighter colours.
White and navy look so crisp together, so I love to wear these two together. Whether it’s a white tee under the blazer, like in these photos, or a white pair of jeans, the navy/white combo is a fave. Soft grey and chambray also go beautifully with navy, as does a breton print! I also like to go for lighter accessories, and tan or nude are my personal favourites.
A blazer is really a transformative piece – if I didn’t have this on, this outfit would be a simple tee and distressed jeans. The blazer takes it up a notch, and allows me to feel dressy yet still practical. This is why it’s such a favourite piece for me as a mum and why I believe every mum needs a gorgeous blazer in her wardrobe!
Fit notes: I’m wearing the Serenity Blazer in a size 6, which is my normal size and it’s a perfect fit. If you were in between sizes, or are broader through the back and shoulders, then look to size up.
