My Favourite Essential Oils from Eco Modern Essentials

Eco Essential Oils

Recently I’ve been doing a lot of research into essential oils and I’ve become quite interested in learning how to use them in different ways. I know essential oils have been super popular for a while now, with the likes of DoTerra and Young Living, but it wasn’t until I discovered Eco Essential Oils that I really became interested in them.

One thing that’s always put me off oils is the price. Some of the DoTerra oils are so incredibly expensive, and you are looking at $300+ for a starter kit. Eco Essentials is a much more affordable option, and their oils are 100% pure and safe for external use. Now, I know DoTerra say that oils can be used internally and it’s advised with the Eco Essentials ones that you do not. Taking oils internally is not something I would do, nor recommend unless you have been approved to do so by a heath professional, so for me, the Eco Aroma oils offer better value for money.

They have a whole range on their website, including pure essential oils and essential oil blends. There are also rollerballs for things like sleep and stress, and they also offer a wide range of diffusers too. If you are new to essential oils, there are also a number of starter packs that you can choose from, as well as a how-to guide for oils. They also have a huge resource centre on their website which I’ve found extremely useful!

So today I thought I’d share a few of the oils that I have been using and loving, and how I have been using them. As I add to my collection, I’ll update this page. I also have a code you can use for 10% off your Eco order, just enter SARAH10 at checkout.

ECO MODERN ESSENTIALS IMMUNITY BLEND

I’ll be honest, when all the Covid-19 stuff happened, I panicked and bought this Immunity blend. It’s Eco’s answer to the highly popular OnGuard essential oil from DoTerra. After comparing the ingredients, it is exactly the same with one exception – Eco’s Immunity Blend contains Lemon versus DoTerra’s containing Wild Orange. Both of which have similar disinfecting and immune boosting properties. The Immunity Blend is $22 AUD, which makes it an affordable option for many. It can be diffused to kill bacteria and aromas in the air, or diluted into a spray bottle for household cleaning and sanitising. It’s a really versatile blend, that smells beautiful – very warm and rich. I’ve been using mine to make my own DIY hand soap – check out my recipe!

ECO MODERN ESSENTIALS LIME

Lime is one of my favourite scents. I love citrus scents, and I find that Lime is really energising and fresh. It works beautifully in a diffuser as a room scent, and can be mixed with other oils to create custom scents. Lime also has anti-viral and disinfecting properties, so it’s a great blend to use in winter. I often use this one to make my hand soap, and it also works well in DIY cleaning products, for getting rid of nasties and also offering a fresh and clean scent. If you love citrus scents, you will love this one!

ECO MODERN ESSENTIALS SLEEP

The Sleep Blend was my first ever oil I purchased from Eco and it’s still one of my favourites. It’s a sleep blend, designed to help you relax and unwind at the end of the day. I like to diffuse this one through out the house at the end of the day. It’s a blend of Mandarin, Lavender, Frankincense, Ylang Ylang & Chamomile and it is such a beautiful and dreamy scent. The mandarin is quite present, so it also works beautifully as a calming smell to hide any scents or odours in the home. If you have trouble sleeping or find yourself stressed out or anxious, I highly recommend this blend. You can get this one either as an essential oil to diffuse or mix yourself, or you can choose a rollerball which is pre-mixed with a carrier oil and can be directly applied to the skin.

ECO MODERN ESSENTIALS SWEET ORANGE

Sweet Orange is one of my favourite scents (can you tell I love my citrus scents yet?) and again, it’s brilliant for using to purify the air and clean your home. This one is beautiful in the diffuser by itself, or mixed with a scent like bergamot. It’s fresh, uplifting, and the perfect scent to have diffusing while you work. It’s also a great scent to be mixed with other scents in a rollerball blend, and can also be used for its antibacterial properties as a diluted cleaner in the kitchen.

OTHER ECO ESSENTIAL OILS

While these are my favourite and most used oils, there are a number of other essential oils that are extremely versatile and great “beginner oils”. These include the following:

  • Lavender – super calming and relaxing, helps you sleep
  • Peppermint – invigorating and uplifting, supports mental clarity
  • Frankincense – stress relief and immune boosting, calms the mind
  • Lemon – fresh and boosts energy, also antiseptic and great for cleaning
  • Eucalyptus – deeply cleansing and great for treating colds & flu, antiseptic for both airborne and surface germs

When it comes to essential oils, make sure you read all of the info for each particular oil. Some people are more sensitive to smells and oils than others, and you need to be careful using certain oils around young children and pets. Eco have all this information listed under each oil, so you can make the best choice for your personal situation!
