Essano have recently released their new Vitamin C Brightening range, and I’ve been trying it out over the past few weeks. Essano has quickly become one of my favourite brands (I love their Purple Shampoo and Conditioner), and they are also natural and NZ owned – two big ticks right there!
This new range contains high doses of Vitamin C, which is designed to help brighten the skin and remove discolouration such as age spots or pigmentation. The whole range smells incredible, with a soft orange citrus scent. It’s especially lovely to use in the morning as it’s a very energising scent which gets you ready for the day ahead. It’s also really affordable, with all products retailing under $25. This is a very low price for such a powerful product, as many brightening skincare lines are easily two or three times the price.
I’ve included a little bit of information below about each product in the collection, and how I’ve found it so far. Please bear in mind, I’ve only been using these products a few weeks, and we all know skincare often takes a while to see full results, so this is more of a “first impressions” piece. If there’s any product you would like a full review on, let me know in the comments or DM me on Instagram!
VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING GEL CLEANSER
I love a good gel cleanser, and when it offers brightening properties, it’s even better! I typically like to use a gel cleanser in the mornings and a cream cleanser at night, so the Essano Brightening Gel Cleanser is now what I’m reaching for every morning before I exfoliate. This cleanser contains high levels of Vitamin C to help brighten and smooth your complexion, while also removing oils and traces of dirt or left over amounts of makeup. It’s quite a nourishing cleanser, so I don’t feel like it’s drying out my skin, and if I forget to apply a moisturiser, it’s not going to be the end of the world. If you are after an affordable, natural gel cleanser, then I don’t think you could go too far wrong with this one! BUY HERE
VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING POLISHING SCRUB
The Brightening Polishing Scrub is one of my absolute favourite products in the Vitamin C collection, and a current runner for my favourite beauty product I’ve discovered this year! It’s a beautifully gentle, yet effective, polishing scrub that can be used every day. You only need a small amount to exfoliate your face and, the micro-exfoliating particles do a great job at helping to remove debris from the skin. I like to focus this especially on my nose and chin where I get the most build up of dead skin cells. My skin always feels really smooth after using this exfoliator, so I’ve found myself enjoying it in the morning before I moisturise and apply makeup, as it creates a really nice smooth canvas. If you only can try one product from this range, make it this one! BUY HERE

VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING EYE GEL
By now, you guys probably know I have a love/hate relationship with eye creams. I try my best to love them, and at age 30, I really should use them much more than I do. I just can’t really get excited about them. I was pretty keen to try this one though which is actually an Eye Gel, so it’s an awful lot lighter than your typical heavier cream. It’s quite cooling when it’s applied to the eye area, and it seems to dry a lot faster than a cream. I was a little worried a gel might be a tad sticky, but I haven’t noticed any issue with this at all. This Eye Gel is designed to brighten up the under eyes and it has a subtle shimmer through it to help reflect light and brighten, which is definitely what I need at the moment! It’s still early days, but I have to say first impressions are good so far! BUY HERE.
ADVANCED BRIGHTENING VITAMIN C SERUM
I was first introduced to Essano Serums when I tried the Collagen Boost Serum, which is still one of my favourite affordable serums. The Advanced Brightening Serum is a high-dose Vitamin C serum, designed to help lighten up pigmentation and dark spots. In clinical trials of this serum, participants began to see reduction of UV-pigmentation in 56 days, and removal of age spots in 16 weeks. While I don’t have any age spots to test this on, I do have some UV pigmentation on my cheeks and I have noticed this lighten up a little already. I plan to do a full review on this serum at some stage, once I’ve been using it for a really decent amount of time.
One other thing I really like about this serum is that it also contains UV protection to protect the skin from further damage. The other lightening product I had been using didn’t have this, and as a result I actually ended up getting more damage! So this is a big win for this much more affordable Essano serum! BUY HERE
VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING SPF15 MOISTURISER
I’ve always really enjoyed using a brightening moisturiser in the morning and this one is no exception. Packed with vitamins A, B and C, which are sourced naturally from fruits such as Pineapple, Mango and Papaya, this is a gentle natural moisturiser designed to help brighten and refresh the skin. I’ll be honest, I am a shocker at applying SPF especially in the winter, so to find a moisturiser that contains a SPF15 that’s also natural is a real win for me. It’s a beautifully light moisturiser, that absorbs into the skin well, meaning I can apply my makeup within a minute or two so there is no downtime (a must when you have toddler and no time! 😂) It’s not sticky or greasy, and a little goes a long way. VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING RADIANT SKINCARE PACK
This neat wee pack contains four of the Vitamin C products, and is perfect as either a trial or travel set. Containing a Gel Cleanser, Polishing Scrub, Serum and Moisturiser, this is an easy to to try four of the main products before you buy the full size. Personally, I’ll be using this one when I travel, as the smaller sizes are super easy to pack. This set also comes with a cotton bag for storing your skincare while travelling. BUY HERE
