I totally had to share this gorgeous new dress that I was sent recently. It is from the brand Tanah Folk from Taylor Cove Collection (read my post about their Dream Chaser Dress here!) It’s the Muse Dress and it comes in two prints, Tigress and Leopard. These are seriously stunning dresses, and best of all they are petite friendly! I find most maxis too long on me and I generally need to get them adjusted, but the length of this one is absolutely perfect! It’s a beautiful, flattering fit and has a split up the side to make it easy to move around it.
The Tigress print is stunning, it’s a gorgeous tiger print and the colours of this one are absolutely beautiful. The fabric is lovely and soft and moves and hangs on the body beautifully. I feel super glam wearing this dress and I love what a versatile piece it is – it can be worn all year around and the styling options are endless! Dress it up with jewellery and heels for night-time or tone it down with sneakers and a denim jacket for summer days. Scroll to the end of the post for fit tips and sizing info.
Since we are currently in winter and I am dying to wear this dress, I’ve been playing around with a few winter-friendly styling options. Here’s a couple of ways that I am styling a strappy dress for this winter.
The black top I am wearing is a merino and I’m also wearing a singlet underneath for added warmth. Since this dress is a maxi style, you could also get away with wearing tights underneath for added warmth, however I haven’t chosen to do this for these photos. Pop on a fedora and a pair of booties and you are good to go!
Another cute way to wear a strappy maxi in the cooler months is to wear a cropped jumper over the top. I don’t have a cropped black jumper, so I simply popped my merino over the top and tied it to the side to give a cropped appearance. I love how this looks and this outfit makes me look so much taller than I really am!
Fit tips: I am wearing this dress in a size small and I’m usually a size 6-small 8. This size Small fits perfectly and would work on a size 6-8, so it does run slightly smaller as a small is usually an 8-10. Height-wise I am 163cm (5’3″) and this maxi is the absolute perfect length on me. It is a maxi length yet not too long that it drags on the ground. I am wearing flat boots in these photos and it’s a great length. I would also get away with it with heels too! Love love love this dress!
