Kmart Toddler Sleep Clock Review

Kmart Toddler Sleep Clock

I did it! I finally got my hands on one of the always sold-out, mythical clocks…. so naturally I thought I should do a Kmart Toddler Sleep Clock review to share how we are finding this clock and whether it lives up to the hype.

If you have a toddler then you’ll know that sleep time can be ….. tricky! I’ve always been super lucky in the fact that Jack has always been an amazing sleeper right from the start, however now that he’s older, it’s become a little harder to get him to stay in bed in the mornings and also be aware of when it’s time to go to bed at night (thanks to it being super light at night due to Daylight Savings!)

If you haven’t seen them before, the toddler sleep clocks are super simple ways for kids to tell the time. You set three modes – the current time, the time you want your child to go to sleep, and the time that they are allowed to get up. The clock stays yellow during the time the child is allowed to be up and awake and goes blue during the time the child is supposed to be sleeping. This gives children who are too young to read the time a visual cue as to when it’s bed time and when it’s time to get up!

The Kmart Toddler Sleep Clock is awesome in the fact that it is super easy to use and charge, and is affordable at only $32. Many other sleep clocks retail for $50+ and do very similar things to this one, so if you can find one of these I suggest you grab it! The clock is charged via USB cable (provided, you just need the wall adapter), and one charge lasts absolutely ages, especially if you turn the clock off during the day. The times are super easy to set and adjust, and there is a lock function which stops kids from changing the settings. There is also an alarm function, however I’ve never used this. You can also adjust the brightness which is cool!

On the clock face, the numbers are big and are easy for kids to read and this is a great supporting tool to help teach Jack digital time. During the day the clock is yellow and shows a smiling sun. At night time, the clock turns a deep blue and shows a sleeping moon.

This clock has been a winner in our house and Jack calls it his “magic clock”. He knows if he wakes up before it goes yellow (at 7am) he needs to either go back to sleep or play quietly play in bed. When the clock goes yellow he can get up and come through. At night it also shows a great visual cue that it’s time for bed, so bedtimes have become a lot easier and quicker as he can see that it’s time to go to bed.

For $32, you literally can’t go wrong with the Kmart Toddler Sleep Clock. It’s super fun and kids will love it (plus it gives them a sense of control and responsibility too!). It’s made bedtimes and mornings so much easier as Jack has a clear expectation of when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to wake up. If you are struggling with early mornings with your toddler, I highly recommend grabbing one of these! If you are having trouble finding them at Kmart, there are also a selection available here, at various prices.
