It’s starting to well and truly feel like Autumn now with the leaves on the trees now shades of red and gold, and that stunning golden light appearing in the afternoons. Autumn (or Fall for my USA friends) is one of my favourite times of the year. The mornings and evenings are crisp, but we usually have a stunning, warm day.

In terms of fashion, I love the transitional seasons. It’s still warm enough to enjoy a few of my summer favourites, paired with a snuggly knit or jumper. And boots. You all know how much I love my boots so I’m thrilled we are back to boot season!

Today I wanted to share this super snuggly hooded knit from Salty Crush. It’s called the Maple Knit and it comes in two colours – Rust and Ivory.  I have the Ivory colour (as I’m all about those neutrals), and it’s such an easy to style piece. It’s a thick chunky knit, that’s so so soft! It has an open front and generous hood and it’s just one of those layers you throw on as you’re heading out the door. Here are two ways I’ve been styling this one lately! The first way I’m styling this hooded knit is for the cooler Autumn days. It’s super easy and classic with black leather look jeans and a black ribbed top. This ivory colour really pops on the black and the rust colour would also look gorgeous with this outfit! For cold days, I’ll pop a merino layer on under the ribbed top for extra warmth, although to be honest this cardi is really quite warm!

The second outfit is the hooded cardi paired with light denim, ballet flats and a cami for those slightly warmer days. The knit works as a nice, easy to throw on layer, and this would be a great option for those in slightly warmer climates. The colour of this knit really makes it super versatile for what to pair it with – all colours of denim look great!

Fit tips: I’m wearing the Maple Hooded Cardi in the size S/M. For size reference, I am usually a size 6-8 and am 163cm (5’3″) tall. A S/M would fit anywhere from a size 6-12 depending on preferred fit. It also comes in size M/L.
