CurrentBody LED Face Mask Review

CurrentBody LED Mask Review

A few months ago I had the privilege of being contacted by CurrentBody to try out their popular LED Face Mask. If you love beauty products, then it’s likely that you’ve heard of this one as it has been extremely popular on social media (and even was spotted on Emily in Paris!). This mask has racked up over 1,700 reviews on their website, with an average of 4.5 stars, and is touted as one of the best LED Masks available.

So naturally I jumped at the chance to try it out…..

First up, a little about light therapy. Red LED light is revolutionary in the beauty industry for its powerful anti-aging effects. It helps to improve fine lines and wrinkles, calms redness and soothes inflamed skin, and promotes healthy and healing skin.  People have also found improvements with skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis after using LED light. Most importantly, it is gentle and safe on the skin and has been throughly tested to ensure it doesn’t create any long lasting issues. This was definitely important to me and I did a lot of research about the use of LED light before I agreed to trial the products. From what I studied, it’s absolutely safe to be used on the skin (they just haven’t tested it on pregnant mama’s so maybe best to skip it if you are planning to be or are pregnant).

10 minutes is all it takes for the mask to work it’s magic. It’s recommended for the best results to use it 3-5 times a week, however I often use mine only 1-2 times a week and I have still seen results. It does take about 4-6 weeks to start to see results, so continual use is important. Before you start to use the mask, it’s important to do a skin test as, while it shouldn’t cause any issues, some people are sensitive to LED light. To do this, I just wrapped the mask around my arm for a 10 minutes session and had no issues so determined the mask safe to use on my face.

So let’s talk about the mask. It is SUPER easy to use and the flexible silicone makes the mask so comfortable and easy to wear. It’s wireless, expect for one wire that goes to the controller. The mask is rechargeable via USB and each charge gives about ten uses, so you don’t have to charge it each time you use it which is a win. The mask sits on your face and is attached by a stretchy velcro band which is adjustable around the back of your head. I was quite surprised with how well the mask stays on and how comfortable it is to wear for the time. It also sits well on your head with AirPods in so I love to just take the ten minutes to chill and listen to some music or one of my favourite podcasts.

CurrentBody LED Mask

So what makes the CurrentBody LED Face Mask so good? It’s 27% more powerful than other leading brand masks and delivers the same clinically proven wavelengths as professional salon machines. It has 132 LED bulbs positioned evenly over the mask to reach all areas of your face.  It’s also nice and bendy and sits nicely which gives greater and more even coverage.

Now at first glance the price tag of this LED Mask could put people off, however, let me break it down for you. At $584 NZD it definitely is on the pricier side for beauty equipment, however if we compare this to salon LED sessions, at an average of $60 each, it’s still less than 10 salon sessions. Since it offers the same power of a salon session, the mask is really a no brainer. Plus you can do it in the privacy of your home instead of having to head to a salon.

CurrentBody LED Mask Review

The only one thing I will say about this mask, is that the light is very bright. It has been tested to be safe for your eyes, and the mask does come with some small goggles which you can use to help block the light. I didn’t find them to be very useful in wearing in conjunction with the mask, so I just lie there and close my eyes. I have noticed sometimes after using the mask that my the colour that my eyes see does change a little bit and everything looks very green for a while. This does go away after a few minutes, but is just an observation!

Overall, I do really like this mask and if you are looking for LED Light Therapy treatment for your skin you honestly can’t go past this mask. It does offer great results and my skin always feels and looks good after I’ve been using this mask. I also notice that I get less breakouts when I do use the mask, and if I do have a spot then the mask helps clear it up quicker. I’ll be continuing to use it as a regular part of my beauty routine.

Have you tried this mask? Or are you planning to give it a try thanks to this CurrentBody LED Face Mask review? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
