Leahlani is a brand that I wanted to try for the longest time. One look at the beautiful product names and stunning packaging, and I’m sure you can see why! It’s a bit of a tricky brand to get a hold of here in New Zealand, so I was thrilled to see that Eve Organics is a stockist of this brand! Leahlani Skincare is a Hawaiian brand, with all of the products hand crafted in small batches at the Leahlani studio on the island of Maui. Every product is made from beautiful, natural ingredients with many of them being rather exotic or native to Hawaii. This really sets the brand apart from it’s other natural counterparts, and the inclusion of active botanicals, pure oils, and fresh Hawaiian nectars makes for incredibly luxurious holistic skincare.
The brand was started by esthetician Leah, who used to suffer from acne. Since I have suffered from acne in the past (and it still likes to rear it’s ugly head every now and then), I find I gravitate towards brands where the maker has either suffered from blemished skin themselves, or have designed their line of skincare specifically to target troubled skin. Over the past month or so I’ve been using two of the products from the Leahlani line, and wanted to share my thoughts on these gorgeous products.
Leahlani Bohemian Ruby Toner
The Leahlani Bohemian Ruby Toner is one of the most popular products in the collection. This beautiful facial toner comes in a gorgeous frosted bottle with a pretty pink label, and definitely looks the part sitting on the dresser. Each bottle also contains a gorgeous rose quartz gem stone. Rose Quartz is known as the love stone and promotes self-love and healing. It’s one of my favourite natural gem stones for this very reason – everyone can benefit from a little self-love!
This toner is designed for those with sensitive, dry or troubled skin. It’s a very delicate mist that’s designed to hydrate and balance the skin. I like to use it both morning and night, after cleaning and before I moisturise. It always leaves my skin feeling super soft. Maybe it’s the inclusion of the Rose Quartz or the delicate floral smell, but I always feel refreshed and calm after spraying this on my skin. It feels like such a treat, and I’ll often use it during the day too for a little skin pep-up.
Leahlani Pua Lei Coco Infusion
The Leahlani Pua Lei Coco Infusion is the most indulgent body oil I think I’ve ever tried. Made from a blend of oils including coconut, macadamia, and kukui oil, this Coco Infusion is extremely hydrating and a lovely treat on dry skin. It has a very delicate tropical scent, and when I apply this at night the scent transfers on to my pyjamas and I’m left to fall asleep in a cocoon of calming oils! I’ve been using this product a lot lately on my tummy in the hope it will prevent stretch marks since it’s such a rich oil. So far, I’ve gotten none so I’m very happy!
This oil is seriously beautiful and it’s a part of my skincare routine I really look forward to due to the tropical scent. The only small issue I have with this product is that it can solidify if it gets cold enough and living in NZ means this does happen occasionally. It’s simple enough to warm up though, just pop it in front of the heater or fire for a few moments.
Overall, I am loving this brand and I’m keen to try more product from the range.
