I Try More Clothes From Femme Luxe

You guys might remember my last review about clothing from Femme Luxe, and I’ll be honest I wasn’t super impressed. Originally I planned not to do another review, however when I was on their website having a look around I felt a bit bad. All of the items I chose for this review were definitely on the cheaper side of things. So I decided it would only be far to try out a few higher price items and see if the quality and my thoughts on this brand improved.

I was allowed to order four items, so I chose four that I thought suited me the best. About a week later the items turned up in the mail, and to my surprise there were only three of them. I messaged the company to say that one item was missing and the girl messaged me back and basically said “oh don’t worry about it, just please post a blog”….. uh okay. While I’m not too fussed about the missing items (which was quite a cool looking oversized white tee, but oh well), I was less than impressed with the service and if I had paid for these items I’d be fuming!! It was at that point that Femme Luxe fell even further in my opinion to the point where I really would not recommend this brand AT ALL to ANYONE.

Anyway lets’ get on to the clothes, shall we?

The first item I chose was this Black Chain Print Belted Satin Shirt Mini Dress, and I’ll be honest this is totally different to anything I’d usually wear. It’s a satin fabric thats actually quite good quality (although like many satin items it can become a bit static). This is obviously super short and I’m 50/50 in whether I’d actually wear this out in public as a dress as it’s that short. I’m only 163cm so if you are taller than me, this definitely won’t work as a dress. As you can see below though it looks cute paired with leather leggings or wet look jeans. I’m sort of in two minds if I like this one or not. The print is kind of cool, but I’m also not sure if I’ll actually ever wear it as anytime I’ve had the chance to, I’ve always opted to wear something else.

Shirt Dress Fit tips: I have this in a size 8-10 S/M and it’s perfect. I’m usually a size 6 and I’d say it fits like an 8. I’d definitely go oversized rather than undersized in this one, as the belt helps to bring it in anyway. 

The next item I chose were these Mid Wash Distressed Ripped Mom Jeans and I’ll be honest they really don’t fit like the picture, but are actually quite comfy and I quite like them. They are a decent denim, they have very little stretch to them. Since Femme Luxe seem to be quite small fitting, I went for an 8 in these and I totally should have gotten a 6 as they are a bit big around the waist. On the model they are very fitted and figure hugging, but in real life they are a lot baggier and a straighter fit. The rips seem well done, and the placement is good and they don’t seem like they’ll rip too much further. These are a really comfy jean, but in real like look nothing like the picture. Maybe if you are more of a curvy body type these might look more like the picture, but for someone with an athletic or straight up and down shape, these are definitely baggier.

Jeans Fit tips: As mentioned I grabbed the 8 but should have gone with my normal size, 6. They are definitely on the larger size, so go with your regular size. I’m 163cm (5’3″) and found them a little long for a mom jean, so I rolled them over a couple of times at the bottom to take them to a more cropped style which I much prefer. Otherwise these have a raw hem.

The last item that actually arrived was the Long Sleeved Belted Utility Cargo Jacket in the colour Stone. Again, this is something a bit different for me, and to be honest, I was probably taking my chances getting a jacket in a light colour with a toddler, but hey! This jacket is a button up utility style jacket that has lots of cargo-y pockets on the sides. It’s okay-ish and is a good fit and length. It comes with two belts, both of which are about three metres long, so I’m not really sure how on earth you are actually supposed to use them? They’d literally go around me a million times, so I haven’t bothered with the belt for this pictures. I don’t absolutely love this one and to be honest I don’t think I’ll get my wear out of it, so I will donate it to someone who will enjoy it more.

Cargo Jacket Fit tips: I got this in a size 8 and I’d say its true to size. The belts are still weird. 

So overall, the higher the price of the Femme Luxe stuff, the quality does seem to improve…. slightly. I do prefer the items I got this time than in the last haul, but I’m still not super happy with their lack of customer care and the fit of the items isn’t amazing. I still wouldn’t buy from here and I think you get much better clothes elsewhere but I’m glad I gave them a second go. Have you shopped from Femme Luxe before? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
