Now that we are officially in winter and the temperatures are dropping, I thought I’d do a wee round up of my favourite day to day cosiest winter clothing pieces. It’s been so cold here lately, to the point where we have had hard frosts nearly every morning! While I love to dress up, most of the time I’m just at home with Jack or working, so I often wear a lot of comfy casual clothes while I’m doing so.
For cosy trackies, I love my Federation Escape track pants. I’ve had these both in black and gold, and black and white stripe. They are super flattering and a slim fit, so don’t feel like regular “baggy” trackies. The cuffed bottoms, means that even if you are on the shorter side, they look really cute. Size down as these are quite a generous fit – I wear a XXS and am usually a size 6 in pants. For something a bit more affordable, then these pants from Outershell Clothing are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend them, especially if you are on the shorter side!
In winter, I live in my merino tops. I love a fitted merino that I layer under things like blouses or long sleeved tops for added warmth. My favourites are the 100% merino tops from Glassons. I’ve been wearing these for years and they are great quality and wash really well. I love the crew neck for everyday, and the V-neck ones for wearing under things like boho blouses or long sleeved dresses – instantly making many of my summer clothes wearable in winter too!
Another item I live in year around are long sleeved tops. As I mentioned above, in winter I’ll often wear them layered with a merino underneath or a jacket or cardi on top. My all time favourite long sleeved tops are from Outershell Clothing. I bought a couple a few years ago, and Shelley has kindly gifted me some from the AW20 collection. The ones I’ve had for years are still in perfect condition, and they get washed and worn ALL THE TIME. They haven’t stretched out or faded and still look as good as new, so I highly recommend these if you are like me and love your long sleeves!
Another Glassons favourite, are the Ponte pants. These are a cross between leggings and pants, and are super comfy, yet stylish. Best of all, you will get your wear out of these year around! Style them with an oversized jumper or sweater or even pop them on under a maxi dress for extra warmth. There’s heaps of cute colours and styles available, but the Biker Moto’s are my fave as they are so versatile!
When it comes to dresses, I can’t go past the long sleeved dresses from Outershell Clothing. I love their shorter sleeved summer styles, and have been loving these winter versions. On a super cold day, I’ve even been layering them with a merino underneath for extra warmth, and they also look cute styled with a denim jacket, vest, or cardi!
For cosy accessories, I love my Pagan Marie beanies and scarfs. They are so snuggly and are really affordable too! Kmart also has some great options if you are on a budget!
