3 Unique Ways to Treat Mum This Mother’s Day

3 Unique Ways To Treat Mum This Mothers Day - Mothers Day Gift Ideas

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s got me thinking of unique and special ways I can treat Mum this year. I feel so blessed to have such a close relationship with my mum, and we literally talk about everything! I always look forward to my trips to Dunedin to see her, and always miss her when we leave to go home! She has been there for me in so many ways, and I feel I’ll never truely be able to thank her enough for all she’s done for me. While this year she is a Mum, this time next year she will also be the most wonderful Grandma to my baby boy.

Every year I like to try and do something a little special for Mum on Mother’s Day. While the typical chocolate, gift cards, or flowers are nice, it’s the really special things that she remembers. If you are looking for a way to make your Mum feel special this Mother’s Day, here are three unique gifts that she is bound to remember.

A Special Outing

A couple of years ago, I booked my Mum in for a High Tea at Carey’s Bay Restaurant. We ate little cakes from the cake stand, drank more cups of tea than I can count, and chatted for hours about anything and everything…. all while looking out at a stunning view. Mum mentioned to me not long ago about how this is one of her most treasured memories, and it’s one of mine too. It was something so simple that both of us throughly enjoyed.  If a high tea isn’t something your mum would like, then other fun activities include a mani/pedi, a facial, or even a mother-daughter lunch out. Sometimes time can be one of the greatest gifts!

Something You’ve Made

They say it’s the thought that counts, and a gift that’s been handmade is one of the most thoughtful things you can give. Whether it’s a craft item, or a homemade meal or cake, Mum will love something that you’ve taken the time to create. I love baking, and creating new and fun recipes, and these can be such a fun gift to wrap up all pretty and give mum on Mother’s Day. A couple of my favourite recipes are bliss balls (like these lemon coconut ones), or fudge as these can be put in a pretty jar with a bow and gifted!

A Personalised Gift

Okay, I know not everyone has the time to make something, or they can’t be with their mum on Mother’s Day, and in my opinion then you can’t go past a personalised gift. I love these beautiful, personalised gifts from Gifts Less Ordinary. No matter what your mum likes, it’s possible to get her the most perfect and unique gift, that’s customised to her. I personally love this beautiful necklace, and this fun cushion, and this rose gold photo frame – and these would make the perfect gift for any mum!
